Diversity represents the very basic fact that each individual is different from every other individual.
The differences can be along multiple dimensions, ranging from caste, creed, race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious and political beliefs, ideologies or other idiosyncrasies.
Since the internationalization and globalization of the companies and industries, it has become important for the Human Resource department to look into this field as well.
It is important to have diversity at every structure of society like schools, colleges, government offices, or multinational corporations.
The importance is especially high when it comes to multinational corporations. Now a global company has offices in geographic locations very different form its base location. In such cases it is necessary follow the diversity rules of that particular foreign country or location.
